A pulse is emanating from the relativistic jet of Pictor A. It reaches across the universe, towards its centre where some structure appears to be forming. Meanwhile, readings from the Hubble telescope indicate that the universe has stopped expanding.

A collapse is feared. A manned spacecraft is sent out to investigate the phenomenon. Bending space, the astronauts travel through its vast, uncharted reaches, guided by dreams and visions that seem rather strange, but sort of make sense. It is a tiresome and mystic journey with many casualties, but ultimately the true nature of the universe might be revealed. Or not.

Space is there, so it must be climbed.
